2024 SEASAT YOUTH CAMP REPORT – Insights and Recommendations

Date: December 31st, 2024

In today's world of opportunities and risks, Asia plays a critical role on both sides. In navigating these wide-ranging issues, we believe multi-stakeholder collaboration that pools diverse talent can shape a better future for the region. Against this backdrop, the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation continues to organize the annual flagship Southeast Asia-South Asia-Taiwan (SEASAT) Youth Camp, which seeks to connect 40 aspiring leaders, aged 18 to 27, from across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Taiwan, as well as like-minded countries, to exchange ideas, establish mutual understanding, and collaborate on shared issues.

From 24 to 26 July 2024, the highly anticipated SEASAT Youth Camp kicked off its 6th edition in Taipei. After a rigorous selection among over 300 applicants, the Camp brought together 40 delegates from over 10 countries for a series of activities under the theme “Enabling Youth in Shaping Future Asia.” The disruption of Typhoon Gaemi led to the need to cope with several unexpected challenges, but the delegates’ enthusiasm remained unabated.

This event report presents summaries of insights from each session, the impact of the event, and actionable recommendations on empowering the youth for common goods in the region. It is hoped that these public services could invite more constructive dialogues on the issues in concern and as a reference for the governments and stakeholders in empowering youth-led initiatives.
