We are dedicated to advancing the New Southbound Policy, fostering friendly relationships with Southeast Asian societies through “soft power” and “warm power” in areas such as cultures and arts, academic think tanks, youth leadership, regional resilience, and civil society. Topic: Connections Between Youth - Cross-Border Dialogue and Collaboration in the New Global Age
Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Japan Office are in partnership for various research projects. Their work focuses on the future of work for Asian youths, and the challenges and adaptations that come along. In this episode, KAS Senior Program Manager Cristita Marie Perez shares her experience collaborating with youths and TAEF. Boon Yee LIM, TAEF’s director of Taiwan-Asia Young Leaders Engagement program also joins the discussion, which covers how youths can leverage cross-border communication and collaboration as a response to new work forms emerged in the era of AI digital transformation and Industry 4.0.

Cristita Marie Perez
Cristita is the Senior Programme Manager, Regional Economic Programme Asia (SOPAS) of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Japan. Born in the Philippines, she has extensive work experience in international NGOs. Her work focuses on women at work, gender equality, and related topics.
Boon Yee
Joining TAEF in 2022, Boon Yee previously managed media engagement for TAEF. She was also the editor for TAEF’s publication“Southbound.” Boon Yee is now directing the Department of Research and Planning and the think tank’s Taiwan-Asian Youth Leader Engagement program. She is a graduate from National Taiwan University with a master degree in Translation and Interpretation, Mandarin-English conference interpretation. Before that, Boon Yee earned an undergraduate degree in finance and worked in the banking industry.

Cherri was born and raised in Hong Kong. Having earned her Bachelor’s degree in Translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she is now studying Chinese-English Conference Interpreting at National Taiwan University’s Graduate Program for Translation and Interpreting.
