Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) is the first policy-oriented think tank in Taiwan focusing on Southeast Asian and South Asian affairs. The TAEF is now recruiting an Assistant Research Fellow. In this position, you will have opportunities to manage international conferences, implement projects, publish policy reports, and gain experience in administrative assignments under the TAEF’s five flagship programs. They include: think tank collaboration, young leaders engagement, civil society connectivity, arts and cultural exchanges, and regional resilience.

Main Responsibilities
The Assistant Research Fellow will be responsible for the following duties:
✦Event Management (Yushan Forum)
- Assist in the planning and execution of the annual Yushan Forum and post-forum proceedings.
✦ Organize international conferences and implement projects (TAEF Five Flagship Programs)
- Plan and execute international symposiums, expert dialogues, workshops, etc. at different scales.
✦Draft, edit, and proofread policy reports and articles
- Collaborate with global think tanks and international experts on the annual publication of policy reports or articles on the New Southbound Policy + and related issues of the New Southbound countries.
✦Host international guests and visiting delegations
- Guest reception.- Plan and execute inbound itineraries of visiting delegations.
✦Others
- Contribute to Chinese and English newsletters, TAEF publications, and media assets.- Support the execution of different ad-hoc projects.- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
✦ holds a Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, politics, public affairs, language studies, or other related subjects in connection with the TAEF’s five flagship programs.
✦ Recent Graduates/ Freshers are welcome (experience working in government agencies, think tanks, or NGOs will be prioritized).
✦ demonstrate professional writing skills (please provide a portfolio of past publications, with at least one article in Chinese or English).
✦ language proficiency in:
a) Mandarin Chinese (non-native speakers are required to present a language certificate that demonstrates a minimum proficiency of TBCL 6 or equivalent) .
b) English (non-native speakers are required to present a language certificate that demonstrates a minimum proficiency of an overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS or 85 in TOEFL iBT or equivalent.c) Proficiency in the language of any NSP country is a plus.
✦ are attentive to details, work with priorities, and have basic skills in coordinating administrative tasks, including but not limited to writing official letters and handling reimbursements.
✦ demonstrate relevant professional qualities, including:
- strong interest in the New Southbound Policy + and its related countries.- good communication and collaboration skills.- language sensitivity.- the ability to operate independently while being a proactive, helpful, and collaborative team player.
Salary
35,000 - 50,000 NTD / month
