Since its inception in 2017, the Yushan Forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), has taken place annually during Taiwan's National Day celebrations, evolving into a key platform for regional dialogue between Taiwan, Asia-Pacific nations, and the global community. Entering its eighth edition under the leadership of President Lai Ching-te and his new administration, the Yushan Forum is set to return with a renewed vision in spring 2025.
The 8th Yushan Forum will center on the "New Southbound Policy+" (NSP+), highlighting President Lai’s approach to values-based diplomacy. It will also promote NSP+ as a framework for deepening Taiwan’s substantive cooperation with New Southbound countries and global partners, fueling momentum for regional economic development, technological innovation, and cultural exchange.
TAEF has announced that the 8th Yushan Forum will feature an expanded lineup, welcoming political and business leaders, academic experts, NGO representatives, and youth leaders from New Southbound countries and around the world. The Forum will serve as a forward-looking platform for high-level dialogues to foster regional stability and prosperity. Through NSP+, it aims to offer concrete policy recommendations and collaborative strategies to address current global challenges and map out a roadmap for Taiwan’s partnership with the world.
